Björn Höcke, social media and commemorative culture

Videoessays

With the requirement to create a video essay portrait, we decided to present a problem of right-wing populism by means of a concrete example of a person. We focused on the online presence of Björn Höcke, a Thuringian AfD politician. In the form of a desktop documentation, we searched the Internet for the person in question and even called him fictitiously and let him have his say. His answer was anything but fictitious, but was taken literally from an interview in the "Weltwoche". The result is a video essay that doesn't incite, doesn't provide answers, but hopefully encourages a critical approach to dubious, right-wing ideas and the way they are formed on the Internet.
