In most universities the use of videos in education is well established. However, this use is usually limited to the capturing of lectures or the integration of learning videos in MOOCs or in inverted classroom settings. Comparatively less common is the application of video analysis for didactic purposes, although it offers numerous opportunities for deep learning. The SWITCHcast Annotation Tool is an easy-to-use-tool which either enables or facilitates such deep learning scenarios. It’s main advantages are the possibilities to analyse given video material online and in a collaborative way. The webinar starts with a very short presentation of the tools' main features. Subsequently, the following use cases will be presented (in addition with some experiences made by different teachers when working with the tool):

  1. Enriched videos for teaching and learning
  2. Case-based learning using captured (real or re-enacted) situations
  3. Video-based self-reflection scenarios
  4. Video-based peer-coaching scenarios
