Losreissen Umkehren Atmen (Tear away Turn back Breathe)

Film: "Portrait de la jeune fille en feu" von Céline Sciamma (2019)

Es ist ein Spiel um die Namen. Orpheus - Marianne - Eurydike - Héloïse. Der Film tritt das Spiel los, er referenziert die Namen neu und damit die Rollen der Blickenden und derer, die angeblickt werden. Derer, die einen Blick losschicken und derer, die einen Blick empfangen. Der Film schreibt einen Riss durch die Zuordnungen, der Rollen von aktiv/passiv, Mann/Frau, Orpheus/Eurydike.

Bei ihrer Re-Lektüre des Mythos reproduzieren Marianne und Héloïse nicht das Gelesene, sie deuten den Mythos um: Widerstand gegen die reproduzierten Zeichen. Umkehr. Sie lesen neu: „Perhaps she (Eurydike) was the one who said: ‚Turn around!‘“. Von Eurydike geht die Handlung aus. Nicht länger ist sie das Opfer von Orpheus Handlung. Am Ende blitzt die Re-Lektüre durch die Choreografie ihrer Bewegungen. Sie performen neue Blick- und Bewegungsbahnen. Eurydikes Blick.

It’s a game of names. Orpheus - Marianne - Euryidice - Héloïse. The movie sets off the game, it references the names in a new way and with it the roles of the viewers and the ones who are beeing looked at. The ones, who send out a gaze and the ones that receive it. The movie also writes a crack trough the assignments, the roles of active/passive, man/woman, Orpheus/Eurydice. 

In their re-reading Marianne and Héloïse don’t reproduce what they’ve read, they bring in a signifficant difference and reinterpret the myth: resistance against the reproduced signs. Turn back. They now read: ‘Perhaps she (Eurydice) was the one who said, “Turn around!”‘ Eurydice’s the one who acts. She’s no longer the victim of Orpheus actions. In the end, the re-reading flashes trough the choreography of their movements. The women perform a new look and movement path.
