This is one way to implement "autoducking" in a classroom in realtime. 

The teacher uses a lavalier microphone on channel 1, the students use a large omnidirectional microphone (away from the teacher) on channel 2. 

Whenever the teacher is not speaking (e.g. in case of a question, comment or discussion), the gain of the students' microphone is set to 0dB. As soon as the teacher speaks, the students' microphone is muted. This ensures that the teacher is heard at all times without reverberation issues.
