Scenarios based on SWITCHcast and its Moodle-Plugin

Webinar presented by Marc Sohrmann & Emmanuel Fernandes, UNIL, June 30, 2016

Videos are being increasingly used for teaching and learning. Recent technological advances have simplified production and hosting of video content and allow for a very precise access control. In this webinar we will describe a technical solution based on SWITCHcast/Opencast which is integrated into the LMS Moodle through a specific SWITCHcast/Opencast plugin. We will illustrate the possibilities offered by this solution using two representative scenarios implemented for large groups of students at the University of Lausanne. The first scenario focuses on the automated recording of individual students that perform a particular skill followed by a reflective analysis. The second scenario makes use of the annotation tool integrated into SWITCHcast/Opencast in order to implement a teaching approach based on peer feedback.
